Dr. Howard completed his residency in Family Medicine at DeWitt Army Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir, VA and his Sports Fellowship at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. After retiring from the Army in 2004 he assumed the position as the Program Director of the VCU-Fairfax Family Practice Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Dr Howard has over 15 years of experience in the office practicing sports medicine as well field side coverage at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. Dr Howard runs a very active sports clinic that offers injury and overuse evaluation, stress testing, musculoskeletal ultrasound (diagnostic and guided injections) and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for tendinopathies.
